This is a common question we’re asked by dentists: Is there an age limit to using clear aligners? In this video, we explain how dentists should think about this in practice.
The answer to that is no. And we’ve treated patients in their 80s and had no issues whatsoever. The more appropriate question would be, are you dentally fit for clear aligner treatment? And there are some issues that can arise with older patients, typically root resorption. So it’s really just about having an open and honest conversation with your clinician and making sure that you only begin that treatment if you are dentally fit to do so.
