This is a common question we’re asked by dentists: Do Smilelign plans take longer than some competitors In this video, we explain how dentists should think about this in practice.
This is a very difficult question to answer because of course every patient is different. What we do try to do is we have the maximum amount of force per tooth, per aligner that we realistically think the movements are possible.
And then we ask people to change their aligners every two weeks. We can slow things down. Sometimes we’ve had cases with minor periodontal disease where we’ve reduced the forces and therefore intentionally extended the time of treatment. But our goal, just like lot of our competitors, is to get the patient from A to B as fast but as safely as possible.
