What do I do if attachments break off?

This is a common question we’re asked by dentists: What do I do if attachments break off? In this video, we explain how dentists should think about this in practice.

So attachments can break off. They’re made from a composite material that’s bonded to the surface of your tooth. And as with anything that’s bonded to teeth, it can come off or be damaged or come off. If that happens to you and you’re midway through your treatment, the first thing to do is get in touch with your clinician and just find out what their guidance would be. There is potential that it’s okay and you’re able to proceed without that attachment being replaced if it’s effectively done the majority of its job, or it might be that it’s absolutely necessary to get that attachment refitted. But that decision will be made by your clinician in partnership with us.
