This is a common question we’re asked by dentists: Can I have no IPR In this video, we explain how dentists should think about this in practice.
Is often a question we get. So typically, our usual way of looking at things is we would go with the least destructive method possible to create space or to facilitate movement for your case. So number one is we would try and do nothing. We would try and not remove any teeth or alter any teeth, and that would usually be by expanding the arch to create space.
If we’re not able to do that, then the next step usually is to go for IPR. We may be able to do less IPR or a reduced amount of IPR, but depending on the case, sometimes we’re unable to get the best results possible without IPR. So really, it’s a question of compromise and every case is different.
