Bruxism, clenching and grinding your teeth, and clear aligners can coexist. So our devices are made from TPU plastic, and they can take quite a lot of force and pressure. They’re a more stain and crack resistant material designed particularly with teeth movement in mind.
So it’s not a huge concern if your patient is a mild clencher or grinder. If they’re suffering from jaw pain or anything to do with the TMJ region, the good news is S4S are a splint specialist lab. So there are some things we can do, including incorporating an anterior midpoint stop appliance just to really reduce the amount of force that the grinding and clenching is exerting with.
